DEMENTIA AWARENESS WEEK

DEMENTIA AWARENESS WEEK

This week is all about Dementia awareness.

Dementia is a term used to describe a type of brain disorder that triggers the loss of brain function. Around 850,000 people are living with dementia in the UK with the number expected to rise to over 1 million by 2025.

Whilst there’s no certain way to prevent against dementia, there are things you can do to help put yourself in a healthier position.

For example, the NHS list diet, weight, under exercising, alcohol, and smoking as factors that can increase your risk of contracting the disorder. Therefore, by keeping our lifestyle in check, we can help to keep our brain healthy in order to prevent against any brain disorders.

Throughout this week, I’ll be sharing more tips and information regarding brain health so make sure that you stay up to date with my social media pages!
