You may not have heard of it, but Kava Kava is a supplement that’s been used in herbal medicine for a long time to reduce anxiety and improve overall wellbeing. Specifically, it’s popular among Pacific Islanders as a cognitive enhancer.
In appearance, its leaves are heart-shaped and attached to a woody stem. Traditionally, it’s ground into a paste to be mixed with water and consumed.
However, it’s not completely safe, and has in fact been banned in the UK for a while.
There are many safer ways to reduce anxiety and boost mood naturally, the first of which is to meditate.
Try to take time out of your hectic day to fit in 5-10 minutes of peaceful mindfulness. The impact can be dramatic.
Secondly, try switching up your diet.
The more unhealthy our diet is, the more unhealthy our body is – and that includes our mind.
A diet built on fruits. vegetables, and natural produce will promote a strong and vibrant mindset.
Lastly, check if you have any gut issues.
Our gut is heavily linked to our brain, and in turn, our emotions. Underlying gut issues can be the root cause of many issues with the mind.
If you suspect this might be the issue or simply want to find out if there is a problem, send me a message.
