HOW TO HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS

HOW TO HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS

This week has been all about Christmas (and next will definitely be, too!)

For some, Christmas is a joyous time full of festivities, fun, and family, but for others, it’s a stressful time that they’d rather avoid.

I want to address both of those people so that we can all have a happy and healthy Christmas where cortisol is down, and the corners of your mouth are up!

Try not to put too much pressure on yourself. There’s a lot going on at this time of the year, and it’s easy to get swept up in the ‘I must’ and ‘I need to’ wave of thoughts.

Instead, this month time is as much about you as it is about everyone else! Take some time for yourself and do something that you enjoy. This is a season for giving, but that doesn’t mean you can’t give to yourself.

My 3 Top Tips for Christmas are:

 Take time for yourself

As much as Christmas is a time for others, it’s also a time for yourself. Make sure to de-stress by getting some you-time.

This is a time for laughter, fun, and smiling – not tearing your hair out!

 Don’t go by the rules

We place a lot of rules on ourself throughout the year that we don’t need to abide by at Christmas.

Remember, it’s not what you do between Christmas and New Year that counts, it’s what you do between New Year and Christmas.

 When the fun stops, stop

Lastly, if you’re full, stop eating. It can be easy to keep going with so much on offer, but if you’re already stuffed, then take a break.

That’s all there is to it.

Oh, and just in case you don’t know – I have some very Christmassy gift cards that’ll make for the perfect stocking filler www.johnway.je/christmas/
