NATIONAL BED MONTH

Ever wanted to just stay in bed all day and relax, shutting out the world and all your problems with it? I know I certainly have. Well, unfortunately, that’s not quite what National Bed Month is all about. Instead this awareness campaign is designed to focus on how important a good sleep can be and why we should all make it a little bit more of a priority in our lives.

The strange thing about sleep is that we all know how awful we feel after a bad night under the covers. We wake up groggy, irritable, and unable to function at the level we’d like. Yet, when we get a good night things seem just that little bit brighter. We feel more positive, more energetic, and more capable overall.

What can hinder our sleep?

  1. Light
  2. Noise
  3. Alcohol
  4. Caffeine
  5. Heat
  6. Stress
  7. Big meals

What can help our sleep?

  1. Exercise
  2. Melatonin
  3. Lavender
  4. Magnesium
  5. A good schedule

This week, we’ll be looking a little more in depth at how to get a better night of sleep and why it’s so important.
