NATURAL WAYS TO REDUCE CROHN’S SYMPTOMS

NATURAL WAYS TO REDUCE CROHN’S SYMPTOMS

Did you know that with Crohn’s disease the immune system mistakenly attacks the healthy bacteria in the GI tract? Chronic inflammation then triggers symptoms. Stress and diet are also both known to make the condition worse which is why a healthy diet and a healthy lifestyle is key to getting this condition under control.

While there is no cure for Crohn’s disease there are some steps you can take to make the outcome better:

  • Take a daily probiotic
  • Supplement with a high-quality fish oil
  • Practice daily stress reduction
  • Try acupuncture

Crohn’s disease is an inflammatory bowel disease that causes inflammation in the lining of your digestive tract. This can lead to things like diarrhea, fatigue, abdominal pain and even malnutrition. If you suffer from this condition here are three tips to help avoid flare-ups!

Tip #1: Limit Dairy

Dairy can be very hard on the digestive system and particularly hard for those with Crohn’s disease. Whether you have a lactose intolerance, a daily allergy, or you are just sensitive to the fat content in dairy, dairy products are best to be avoided.

Tip #2: Try Glutamine

Glutamine is an amino acid that’s found in the body and works to help the intestines function properly. Try taking glutamine as part of your supplementation regimen to support intestinal health.

Tip #3: Try Curcumin

Curcumin is a powerful anti-inflammatory agent and may even be as strong as some over the counter pain relievers. You can get curcumin by simply adding turmeric to your diet.

For this week’s challenge, I encourage you to follow a Crohn’s disease supporting diet here are some steps to start your healing protocol:
