Did you know that approximately 22% of people fail to stick to their New Year’s Resolutions after the first week? This doesn’t have to be you! This week I am talking about tips and tricks you can use to stick to your resolutions all year long.
Happy New Year! This week I want to talk about some tips and tricks for sticking to your New Year’s Resolutions. Setting New Year’s goals is a great way to work towards achieving health, but how do you stick to these goals you set?
Tip #1: Be Realistic
The number one tip I have is to be realistic. There is no need to set unachievable goals. Stick to 1 or 2 things you have been wanting to work towards and be realistic about them. At the end of the day, reaching just one goal is a massive feat and can change your health for the better.
Tip #2: Remember That Little Progress Counts
Don’t forget that small changes lead to big changes. If you have set a goal to exercise more during the New Year but have only managed to increase your exercise routine by 1 extra day per week, don’t be too hard on yourself. One day can lead to two and so on.
Tip #3: Make a Plan
A large part of setting goals is also making a plan. Remember to plan some steps to how you plan to tackle these goals. If you want to eat healthier, plan your meals. If you want to exercise more, plan the days you want to hit the gym. A plan can go a long way in helping you stick to your New Years Resolutions.
For this week’s challenge, I challenge you to try at least two of the following healthy foods as you start the New Year
- Dark leafy greens
- Chia seeds
- Flaxseeds
- Sprouted nuts/seeds
- Berries
- Avocados
- Coconut
- Coconut oil
- Wild-caught salmon
