What are the benefits of Black Walnut Tincture?

Historically, Black Walnut (also known as Juglans nigra) was used to treat fungal infections, parasitic infections, bacterial infections and viral infections as well as promoting a general sense of well being.

Today, black walnut herb is used to support healthy cells and reduce cellular damage caused by oxidation. The Wellness Practitioner Black Walnut Tincture is rich in antioxidants and the hulls contain two main types of active compounds; juglone and tannins which can be taken daily for short periods of time.

What is Black Walnut?

Black Walnut is a species of deciduous tree in the walnut family and is native to North America. The Black Walnut tree is often described as elegant looking, with a tall trunk and long green finger-like leaves with whole walnuts growing in their pod beneath. It gets its name from the dark brown colour of its bark.

Why does this Black Walnut tincture contain alcohol?

Alcohol is used as it is an excellent solvent for extracting herbal medicines. The amount of alcohol used in this herbal tincture is small and therefore does not have any intoxicating effects.

Aqua, Ethanol, Juglans nigra. (Extraction ratio 1:3, alcohol volume 45%).

15 to 30 drops in little water, up to 3 times a day, or as directed by health practitioner.
