What are the benefits of Echinacea Tincture?

Historically, Echinacea (also known as Echinacea purpurea) has been used to help optimise the immune system and provide defence against the common cold and flu variants. 

Today, Echinacea herb has been studied widely and is one of the most popular herbs on the market. Recent studies have shown that Echinacea may help shorten the duration of a cold, reduce the severity of the symptoms or could possibly prevent it altogether. The Wellness Practitioner Echinacea tincture can be taken at the first signs and symptoms of a cold or the flu.

What is Echinacea?

Echinacea is extracted from the coneflower; which is a plant commonly found in North America. The part of the plant that is considered medicinal is the rootstalk. The name comes from the prickly scales found in the large conical seed head, which has been said to look like spines found on an angry hedgehog. “Echino”’ is Greek for “hedgehog”. 

Why does this Echinacea Tincture contain alcohol?

Alcohol is used as it is an excellent solvent for extracting herbal medicines. The amount of alcohol used in this herbal tincture is small and therefore does not have any intoxicating effects.

Aqua, Ethanol, Echinacea angustifolia. (Extraction ratio 1:3, alcohol volume 45%).

15 to 30 drops in little water, up to 3 times a day, or as directed by health practitioner.

Do not exceed stated recommended dose. A food supplement should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet. Please seek medical advice if pregnant or lactating. Store in a cool place, out of reach and sight of children.
