Historically, Milk Thistle (also known as Silybum marianum) has a reputation for supporting liver problems, which is now backed up by many scientific papers. Milk Thistle is just as frequently referred to as Silymarin.

Today, Milk Thistle herb is used where occasional overindulgence of drink and food have occurred, where symptoms such as indigestion and stomach upset present. The Wellness Practitioner Milk Thistle Tincture can be taken before and after a night out of overindulgence.

What is Milk Thistle?

Milk Thistle is a herb that is part of the sunflower family and is native to Europe. This herb has bright purple flowering heads and gets its name from the white sap that comes out when the leaves of the flowering heads are crushed. 

Why does this Milk Thistle Tincture contain alcohol?

Alcohol is used as it is an excellent solvent for extracting herbal medicines. The amount of alcohol used in this herbal tincture is small and therefore does not have any intoxicating effects.

Aqua, Ethanol, Silybum marianum. (Extraction ratio 1:3, alcohol volume 55%).

15 to 30 drops in little water, up to 3 times a day, or as directed by health practitioner.
