Historically, St John’s Wort (also known as Hypericum perforatum), has been used to treat kidney and lung conditions, insomnia, depression and to help with wound healing. 

Today, St John’s Wort herb is used to support anxiety and mild and moderate depression. The Wellness Practitioner St John’s Wort Tincture can be taken daily for a short period of time and is best taken at the same time each day.

What is St John’s Wort?

St John’s wort is a herb that is a flowering plant in the family Hypericaceae with bright yellow flowers and is native to Europe. This plant gets its name from the fact that it blooms often on the birthday of John the Baptist who is a biblical figure.

Why does this St John’s Wort tincture contain alcohol?

Alcohol is used as it is an excellent solvent for extracting herbal medicines. The amount of alcohol used in this herbal tincture is small and therefore does not have any intoxicating effects.

Aqua, Ethanol, Hypericum perforatum. (Extraction ratio 1:3, alcohol volume 45%).

15 to 30 drops in little water, up to 3 times a day, or as directed by health practitioner.
