Historically, Valerian (also known as Valeriana officinalis), has been used for helping to aid better sleep and to improve symptoms associated with mild anxiety. 

Today, Valerian herb is used to help get a good night's sleep, especially when worry and stress is the cause. Several recent studies suggest that this herb possesses mild sedative effects. The Wellness Practitioner Valerian Tincture can be taken before bed for a short period of time. 

What is Valerian?

Valerian is a herb that is part of the honeysuckle family and is native to Europe and parts of Asia. Known for growing over 6 feet tall, this herbal medicine has been used since Greek and Roman times and gets its name from the female name “Valeria” and the Latin verb “valere”, which means to be “healthy and strong”.

Why does this Valerian Tincture contain alcohol?

Alcohol is used as it is an excellent solvent for extracting herbal medicines. The amount of alcohol used in this herbal tincture is small and therefore does not have any intoxicating effects.

Aqua, Ethanol, Valerian officinalis. (Extraction ratio 1:3, alcohol volume 45%).

15 to 30 drops in little water, up to 3 times a day, or as directed by health practitioner.

Do not exceed stated recommended dose. A food supplement should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet. Please seek medical advice if pregnant or lactating. Store in a cool place, out of reach and sight of children.
